Regular Inspection of NMC for admission of 150 students intake for the academic year 2009.
Impression of the Inspection Team on the findings:
1. Construction of separate new building for Lecture Halls, Central Library Auditorium, Examination Hall, Space for Anatomy and for Medicine Departments is in phase of completion within 1 month.
2. Construction of Hostels inside the Hospital Compound for Boys and Girls are also in the phase of completion in 2 months time.
3. Therefore, basic infrastructure was adequate as per NMC norms of Nepal Medical Council for an annual intake of 150 students
4. Teaching and Learning facilities were of good quality.
5. Since the last visit of the Nepal Medical Council in 2008, the college has made lot of additional progress. As most of the requirements of Basic Sciences for 150 admissions have been satisfactory.
6. Bed occupancy is more than 75%.
7. Medical Records Department is fully computerized.
8. O.T., I.C.U, C.C.U., P.I.C.U & N.I.C.U are fully equipped
9. Special services like Haemodialysis, Nephrology, Arthoscopy, Urology & Neurosurgery are also available.
Radiology Department is well equipped with MRI, CT-Scan, USG machine and Color Doppler etc. More than 15 CT scans and 2-3 MRIs are performed per day.
Hospital outreach services are very good
Faculty position is satisfactory for an annual intake of 150 students and retained old faculty.
Keeping the above observations and overall good progress of the Medical College, the team recommends for continuity of an annual intake of 150 students including seats for Ministry of Education, Govt. of Nepal for August 2009 session.
