Professional conduct and Health committee look after the professional misconduct and health related issues.
Power of the professional conduct committee:-
1. To warn the doctor
2. To place the doctor on probation
3. Suspension of registration
4. Stripe name of the Register
5. Application for restoration of name to Register for striping of name form Register
CONDITION FOR STRIPING OF NAME FROM REGISTER:
1. Conviction by the court of law for criminal offences and offences involving moral turpitude.
2. Found guilty in professional activities and approved by 2/3 majority of Council.
3. The Doctor struck off from the register can havethe name restore if his/her explanation for     above punishment is thought reasonable by the Council. But restoration can be done only     after completion of two years from the time name has been struck off..
Other activities Registered doctors shouldn’t do:-
­ Keeping large sign boards other then recommended by NMC norm (18”x14”), fields white and   letters blue.
­ Publishing photographs or case reports in journals without patients written permission.
­ Claiming him as a specialist without proper qualification and working outside the specialty.
­ Failing to take pre-operative written consent from the patient or guardian of patient.
­ Using touts or agents for procuring patient.
